Karen Youth Organisation works for the development of Karen youths. We provide training and support for Karens in Burma and Thailand and assist them in their struggle for freedom and democracy in Burma.

KYO staff regularly organise vocational training sessions for youths inside Karen State and youths in the refugee camps. In addition we have a photography project ongoing.
My Story Photo Project
The goal of this photography project is to develop the photography skills of Karen youths to enable them to take professional quality photos. The project has been running since 2006 and is organised by Susan and Nat. Photography training has been run four times.
Each month the participants send their photos to the organisers of the project in Canada and they are sold for profit. The proceeds are split between the individual photographer and the project running costs.
Exhibitions of the participants' work have been shown three times in the Borderline art gallery in Mae Sot, Thailand, and the students have sold their photos to visitors.
