Pa-an District

This district is Pa-an District and the most important one. After the fall of Manerplaw in 1995 the Karen people faced huge problems such as losing land and a large number of people became refugees in Thailand. It is very difficult for the villagers to survive because they have to deal with SPDC, DKBA, KPF and KNU-KNLA Peace Council. The Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) situation is becoming worse. The SPDC and DKBA always attack the villages so the people flee to the jungle and some go to Thailand.

Karen Youth Organization organizes the youth in Pa-an District and formed KYO committee. KYO has already conducted some training and provided support to some villages but this support does not cover the whole district so they are still in need. KYO is looking after three IDP boarding houses in different areas. Some activities are going on and need more help.
